Gary graduated from Bob Jones University with an undergraduate degree in Bible and a Masters Degree in Pastoral Studies. Debbie graduated with a degree in Business. They were married June 10, 1983. After graduating, Gary served for 35 years as Assistant Pastor in Gray, Tennessee. They have two children, Sarah and Hannah. Sarah is married to Joe, the Youth Pastor at Winkler. Hannah and her husband Caleb moved to Fort Myers in November of 2019. Both Gary and Debbie love to teach God’s Word. They are excited to be at Winkler Road. Joe teaches the Teen Sunday School class and runs the youth meetings and Children’s Church. Sarah directs our Nursery and helps in other ministries. He went to Bob Jones University after his service time and met the young lady that would become his wife. They married in 1964. Pastor Strange and Miss Judy came to Winkler Road Baptist Church in 1986 after pastoring for 16 years in Lexington, Kentucky. Pastor is known for his deep love for God’s Word and his winsome sense of humor. He has a heart for ministry and is a great encouragement to our area pastors. Truth Trackers teaches children a God-centered view of life as they learn doctrinal truth through Scripture memory, daily devotions, and weekly lessons. The children memorize verses, study devotions, and hear lessons covering six doctrines a year. Truth Trackers’ verses and lessons are organized into 18 doctrinal themes. Those doctrines are further divided into 3 years represented by color years: Green Year, Red Year, and Blue Year. We earnestly want to connect truth learned at church to discipleship at home. The children’s Truth Journals are designed to help a child lock-in truth every day through Scripture meditation and live out faith through daily devotions. That’s why having a solid foundation in truth is so important. We want to be a resource for parents as their teenagers form their understanding of truth. These are the years where they need to be deeply rooted in God’s Word. Our youth ministry seeks to help our youth know what they believe, why they should believe it, and what the fruit of that will look like in their lives! There are also many opportunities for good clean fun!
